Sara Mendonça is an Associate Lawyer and has been with Abreu since 2020.

Sara started her professional career in a prestigious New York law firm, with focus on intellectual property.

In Portugal, she has developed her work essentially in the areas of Civil and Criminal Litigation with particular emphasis on Media Law.

She assists international clients in the media sector and has a consistent practice in defending and representing clients in matters related to personality rights before national and European courts.

 In addition, she is regularly involved in the resolution of disputes, representing various national and international clients in the negotiation and pre-litigation stage as well as representing them in civil, criminal and administrative offences legal proceedings.

Experiencia

Advising and representing a national media company in various legal proceedings at a national level, in the civil, criminal and administrative offence matters, as well as before European Courts.

Advising and representing private clients before the Constitutional Court and the European Court of Human Rights.

Advisory a multinational group on compliance programs and policies in criminal and administrative offence matters.

Advice and representation of artists and public figures, both national and international, in matters related to copyright and personality rights, namely image, good name and privacy rights.

Representation of cases in the field of freedom of speech

Advising and representation of insurance companies in several national judicial and arbitration proceedings.

Legal advice and contract drafting for a leading company in the area of coaching and personal development.
