“It is not a particular fire but all those that annually destroy thousands of hectares of forest on our planet. These works start from the idea of fire and ashes: burning, destroying and regenerating. The process of regeneration leads us from the ashes to the color, to the exuberance that I sought to represent by using a palette reduced to pink and yellow thus saying of the explosion of colors that occurs in spring as a promise of hope.” also refers to Urban.
Fábio Colaço, the winner of the Young Art Award Contest 2019, promoted by CDAP, presents 9 works for a reflection on the change of perception and value of money, as well as the unprecedented power that it has exercised in the human imagination of Antiquity to Contemporaneity.
Paradoxically, although money has become much less “tactile”, its power has grown exponentially, to the detriment of other values. Although some speak of the “tyranny of money”, money is a language that everyone understands and something that most people want. “Protect me from what I want” is a phrase by the American artist Jenny Holzerwith an ambiguous sense if we think about our relationship with money.” says Fábio Colaço about the works that are on display at Abreu Advogados.
The exhibition of the artists’ work, on display on the walls of abreu advogados’ Lisbon office, is already the fifth exhibition in the context of the partnership of the law firm with Carpe Diem Arte e Pesquisa, for the Cultural Project of Abreu Advogados.
For Lourenço Egreja, artistic director of CDAP, these two exhibitions reflect the continuation of the Cultural Project that focuses mainly on the problematization of the theme of nature in a work environment that is an office. The exhibition of the award-winning exhibition of Arte Jovem 2019 aims to promote and encourage artists in early career.
