{"id":56384,"date":"2023-03-23T12:45:03","date_gmt":"2023-03-23T12:45:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abreuadvogados.com\/?page_id=56384"},"modified":"2023-03-23T12:45:03","modified_gmt":"2023-03-23T12:45:03","slug":"diversity-and-inclusion-policy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/abreuadvogados.com\/en\/recursos\/diversity-and-inclusion-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"Diversity and inclusion  policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At Abreu Advogados, we believe that our growth and affirmation as an innovating and enduring project need to be supported by humanistic policies, based on a culture of diversity, meritocracy and respect for well-being, in order to ensure the necessary conditions for all our people to feel appreciated and capable of reaching their full potential, for the good of all.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We acknowledge the value that diversity and multiculturalism brings to motivation, creativity and a sense of belonging and this affects the way we decide on the ideal composition for our teams.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We foster an inclusive work environment and encourage an attitude of respect and appreciation of differences, which contribute unequivocally to the ongoing growth and success of our firm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We reject any discriminatory behaviour based on ancestry, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, family life, financial status, education, origins or social condition, genetic heritage, reduced work capacity, disability, chronic disease, nationality, ethnicity or race, place of origin, language, religion, political or ideological beliefs and trade union affiliation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Commitments<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2008, Abreu Advogados signed up to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact which are focused on the areas of human rights, employment practices, environmental protection and anti-corruption. It undertook a public commitment to incorporate these principles into its strategies, processes and operations and to implement specific measures to stamp out all types of discrimination and foster diversity and a culture of inclusion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2022, within the context of the United Nations accelerator programme \u201cTarget Gender Equality\u201d, we were the first law firm in Portugal to commit to the National Gender Equality Target promoted by the Global Compact Network Portugal, which challenges companies to have women in 40% of their decision-making positions by 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gender identity is one of the seventeen sustainable development goals (SDG 5) and the commitment we have undertaken derives from Target 5, which calls for equal representation, participation and leadership in organisations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The progress indicator for the rate of female representation in executive and management positions will be monitored yearly and reported to the Global Compact Network in a two-yearly sustainability report by applying the formula below:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-56385\" src=\"https:\/\/abreuadvogados.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Captura-de-ecra\u0303-2023-03-23-a\u0300s-12.40.54.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"953\" height=\"76\" srcset=\"https:\/\/abreuadvogados.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Captura-de-ecra\u0303-2023-03-23-a\u0300s-12.40.54.png 953w, https:\/\/abreuadvogados.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Captura-de-ecra\u0303-2023-03-23-a\u0300s-12.40.54-300x24.png 300w, https:\/\/abreuadvogados.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Captura-de-ecra\u0303-2023-03-23-a\u0300s-12.40.54-768x61.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 953px) 100vw, 953px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Indicators<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Abreu\u2019s demographic aspects are monitored to assess progress in diversity and inclusion, using the following indicators, among others:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gender equality<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0&#8211; gender distribution<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0&#8211; new hires by gender<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0&#8211; promotions by gender<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0&#8211; leadership positions by gender<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Age or generational diversity<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0&#8211; distribution by age group<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inclusion<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0&#8211; % people with disabilities<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Multiculturalism<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0&#8211;
