Matilde Ortins de Bettencourt is an associate lawyer and has been at Abreu Advogados since 2021, working mainly in the areas of intellectual property, privacy, electronic communications, internet and information technologies, media, advertising and consumer law.

She is particularly experienced on personal data protection matters, including risk analyses, drafting privacy policies and data processing agreements (DPA), advising on responses to data breaches, as well as analyses of compliance with legal obligations.

She provides advice in the areas of e-commerce, consumer law, advertising, media, online games, information technology and the internet in analyses of compliance with national and European legislation.

She has also provided legal assistance to national and international businesses in the telecommunications, media, retail and e-commerce sectors in their integration into the Portuguese market, including analyses of compliance with national and European legislation.

Advising on e-commerce, privacy and advertising issues in the launching of web-based sites and services, as well as compliance requirements;

Drafting and reviewing Privacy Policies, Cookies Policies and Terms and Conditions;

Advising companies on personal data protection, including risk analysis, data processing agreements, advice on regulatory issues and verification of compliance with legal obligations;

Advising on responses to data breaches and communications with the supervisory authority;

Advising data subjects on exercising their rights before the supervisory authority and monitoring the administrative process;

Advising on the preparation of competitions, online games and promotional contests, as well as reviewing advertising material, including analyses of compliance with current legislation;

Advising companies representing the image rights of national personalities on negotiating image exploitation contracts with international brands.
