Helder Galvão is an Of Counsel at Abreu Advogados, since 2020. He assists primarily on the innovation, tech, venture capital, private equity startups and intellectual property rights.

Currently, he has a particular intervention in matters related to new businesses, entitled “startups”, namely in advising on their “early stage” structuring, fundraising in its various phases, “fundraising”, private equity and venture capital fund investments, as well as in sales operations, “exit”.

He is founder of a legal platform for startups, rewarded by the Global Agenda Council, based in Boston.

He is also a Law professor in Brazil, since 2016 and Vice president of the Law for Startups Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association.

He has experience in advising on the acquisition of intellectual assets, having participated in one of the largest operations in Brazil in this matter, as well as in corporate disputes.

Helder has actively participated in the organization of the world’s largest sports event, especially in matters related to commercial contracts and broadcasting, reporting directly to the International Committee, based in Switzerland.

Experience

Advising venture capital firm in the acquisition of an equity stake in one of the leading mediatech startups in Brazil;

Assistance in legal structuring and regulatory aspects of a Fintech company, with emphasis on the acceleration process driven by a leading US social network company;

Advising a technology-based company in the electric power sector, namely in obtaining financing;

Advising on personal data protection issues with a well-known crowdfunding platform in Brazil and based in the Netherlands;

Assistance in corporate disputes, most notably a litigation involving private equity funds and telecommunications companies; 

Advising on litigation between a prestigious media company and a copyright filing body;

Assisting in the organization of a world sporting event, reporting to the International Committee, based in Switzerland.  

Advising on the sale of one of the largest Brazilian audiovisual collections to a restoration and preservation organization.
