Catarina Mata is an associate who has been with Abreu Advogados since 2022 and has been based in Timor-Leste since 2026, working primarily in the area of Employment Law.
She is particularly involved in labor and human resources matters with national and multinational companies in various industries. She has experience in labor relations issues, in the drafting and termination of employment contracts, working conditions, collective bargaining, relations with workers’ representative structures and pre-labor litigation.
She has participated in various disciplinary proceedings, with particular reference to disciplinary proceedings for dismissal with just cause, in companies from various industries.
She has also handled collective dismissal and redundancy procedures.
She is a member of the Timor-Leste Desk and the German Desk.

Advising companies on matters relating to employment law by advising on the legal and conventional provisions in this area;

Advising on various procedures and litigation processes related to Social Security, the Authority for Working Conditions and the Commission for Equality in Labor and Employment;
