Maria Carlos Estevam Alves is a Managing Associate and has been at Abreu Advogados since 2017, working mainly in debt recovery and insolvency.

She works essentially in the area of collection litigation, with a focus on credit recovery, civil litigation, insolvency and company recovery.

She has extensive experience in banking litigation, particularly in the area of credit recovery for large national institutions, managing a diverse portfolio of enforcement proceedings, as well as insolvency and company revitalisation proceedings. He has handled declaratory actions, enforcement actions (common and tax), injunction proceedings, inventory proceedings, injunctions, insolvency proceedings and special revitalisation proceedings. In recent years, she has actively participated in due diligence processes prior to carrying out NPL sale operations.

In insolvency matters, she has supervised several cases, essentially the credit claims of the clients she advises, as well as the liquidation of assets.

She is responsible for managing, organising, training, assigning and reviewing the work of a large team of lawyers, trainee lawyers and administrative staff, and also coordinates the firm’s collection litigation department.
