Ana Pais is a senior associate and joined Abreu Advogados in 2020, working mainly in litigation, with a focus on debt recovery, civil litigation, restructuring and insolvency procedures.

She focuses on matters relating to ​​banking litigation, namely in debt recovery of large national banking institutions, managing diversified portfolios of debt collection claims, predominantly mortgage collection claims, and she is engaged in all stages of the insolvency and restructuring procedures, from negotiating company voluntary arrangements, to the liquidation stage.

Additionally, she has some experience on disputes related to bank resolution measures.

Punctual intervention in due diligence procedures, prior to carrying out loan portfolio sales.

Experience

Advising financial institutions in the recovery of their credits and execution of their guarantees in debt recovery, insolvency and revitalization procedures.

Advising and intervening in the negotiation of agreements between creditors, valuation of guarantees, business recovery plans, payment plans and insolvency plans.

Advising and offering technical solutions to financial institutions regarding the debt recovery policy of retail mortgage, consumer credit, retail small businesses and professionals, SME corporate and large corporate credit portfolios.

Operationalizing and monitoring of asset recovery legal proceedings.

Advising on legal due diligence review for the sale and purchase of non-performing loans, specifically qualitative analysis of the documentation and risk analysis of the portfolio.

Preparing technical opinions.

Advising and managing litigation related to banking dispute resolution issues, namely contractual liability claims.
