Abreu Advogados and Instituto de Conhecimento sponsor and support the Tropical Summit

Abreu Advogados and its Knowledge Institute (Instituto de Conhecimento) are sponsors of the Tropical Summit event, featuring a panel on Voluntary Carbon Markets, which will take place on 6 November at 11.15am.

This round table will have João Pedro Matos Fernandes (Senior Advisor – Abreu Advogados Knowledge Institute) as moderator and Luís Matias (Coordinator – Pinhal Interior Revitalisation Project), Francisco Peixoto (Head of Origination – Mamaland), Henrique Pereira (Director and Co-Founder – WayCarbon) and João Lé (Executive Director – Navigator) as speakers.

The conversation will address crucial issues for the future of voluntary carbon markets, offering a platform for discussion and an exchange of ideas on the opportunities and challenges that may arise from investing in this new mechanism in tropical countries.

José Eduardo Martins and Manuel de Andrade Neves, partners at Abreu Advogados, will also be present at the event.

Taking place from 4 to 7 November at the Lisbon Congress Centre, the Tropical Summit has the High Patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic and the Government of the Portuguese Republic.

The initiative is being organised by the University of Lisbon, the Tropical College of the University of Lisbon and the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa. Relevant names such as Jeffrey D. Sachs (President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University), Paulo Rangel (Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs), Maria da Graça Carvalho (Portuguese Minister of the Environment) and Carmen Neto (Angolan Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources) have confirmed their presence.
