Abreu Advogados advised Getir’s entry in Portugal
Abreu Advogados advised Getir – the Istanbul-based tech company that has revolutionised last-mile delivery by offering customers a choice between thousands of everyday items, all delivered in minutes, and available to customers across eight different countries (and counting) – in its entry into the Portuguese market, particularly in the adaptation of their state-of-the-art app to domestic legislation and many aspects regarding the operation of G-stores from which products are delivered.
Getir’s expansion strategy in Portugal required advice on a variety of matters and operated with ambitious deadlines. Abreu Advogados closely coordinated with Getir’s internal management and advisory teams. Abreu’s advice covered, among others, regulatory and licensing, data protection, e-commerce, real estate and property advice, as well as support in the interaction with the Portuguese Authorities.
Abreu Advogados’ team was composed of 15 lawyers which were led by partners Manuel Santos Vítor (Corporate and M&A), Tiago Mendonça de Castro (Real Estate), Ricardo Henriques (Intellectual Property and Information Technology) and Rodrigo Formigal (Banking & Finance).
