Abreu Advogados shortlisted in six categories at the Managing IP EMEA Awards 2026

Abreu Advogados has once again been recognised on the international Intellectual Property stage, having been shortlisted in several categories at the Managing IP EMEA Awards 2026, one of the most prestigious awards programmes in the IP field across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

The Managing IP Awards are organised by the specialist publication Managing Intellectual Property, which annually assesses law firms and practitioners based on their technical expertise, quality of service and impact on the legal market in matters relating to intellectual property.

Abreu Advogados has been shortlisted in a number of practice area categories reflecting the high level of knowledge and experience of the firm’s Intellectual Property team:

  • Copyright & Design – recognising the quality of its strategic advisory work and the protection of copyright and design rights;

  • Patent Disputes – highlighting its representation in complex patent litigation matters;

  • Trademark Disputes – underlining its strong track record in trade mark contentious work;

  • Trademark Prosecution – recognising excellence in trade mark filing strategies and portfolio management.

These nominations reaffirm Abreu Advogados’ position as a leading firm in specialised IP legal services, both in contentious matters and in preventive and strategic advisory work.

The 2026 edition of the Managing IP EMEA Awards also includes two individual nominations, showcasing the talent and contribution of Abreu’s lawyers on the international stage:

  • Ricardo Henriques, Partner, has been nominated for Practitioner of the Year (Law Firms), a distinction awarded to professionals demonstrating exceptional performance and leadership in the field of intellectual property.

  • Margarida Castillo Silva, Associate, has been recognised as a finalist in the Rising Star of the Year category, which highlights emerging practitioners whose work already stands out for its impact, quality and future potential.

The awards ceremony will take place in London at the InterContinental London – The O2 on 1 May, when the winners across the various categories will be announced and the most outstanding teams and practitioners in the EMEA Intellectual Property landscape will be recognised.
